It all started with just a group of neighbors and friends. Jon Barton, Kyle Wilson and Gary Campbell, and their spouses, were invited to a group gathering at an axe-throwing party in another town. None of them had previously been to such a venue, and thus no one was super thrilled about going. In fact, they almost bailed. Not knowing what to expect, the group decided to stick it out and attend the party. Much to their surprise, they all had an absolute blast. They had so much fun that they couldn’t stop coming back to the idea that the Northland really needed to have a venue to call their own, and they might just be the crew to make it happen. Kyle, Gary and Jon took their casual conversation, turned it into a dream and then turned that dream into reality. Today, WoodChux KC is the only axe-throwing venue in the Northland, also bringing indoor cornhole and other games to the mix, giving people of all ages a unique opportunity to have fun outside the box of the conventional.

Since opening in early 2019, WoodChux has evolved into a Northland hot spot, perfect for friendly competition, birthday parties, and just plain ol’ good family fun. Expansion has come quickly, with the addition of several mobile units available for rent, development of the Missouri Axe Throwing League (leagues meet weekly), and our brand new location on Pine Street in Warrensburg. WoodChux has its sights set on bringing this awesome sport to many communities in the near future.
